FANA 37th General Assembly starts meeting

Cairo, December 20, 2009, SPA -- The 37th General Assembly of the Federation of Arab
News Agencies (FANA) started meeting here today with the participation of directors
and deputy directors of 14 Arab news agencies.

The Kingdom's delegation to the meeting was led by Director General of Saudi Press
Agency (SPA) Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein, who is also the Deputy Chairman of the
Federation of Arab News Agencies.

During its two-day deliberations, the General Assembly will discuss FANA's
activities and establish an award for best report and best photo in line with the
decision of the 36th General Assembly, hosted by Beirut last year.

It will also discuss a report on the economic file, FANA's website, cooperation and
the exchange of news items between the member states, as well as administrative and
financial affairs.
