SEOUL, Dec. 21 (Yonhap) -- South Korean budget carrier Jin Air Co. launched its
first international route on Monday linking Incheon airport, the country's main
gateway, with Bangkok, the company said.

Jin Air held a ceremony at Incheon airport to mark the opening of the route the
same day. It said flights will depart for Bangkok at 9:20 a.m., and from Bangkok
at 2:50 p.m., on a daily basis.
The company, wholly owned by leading flag carrier Korean Air Lines Co., began
offering domestic flight services in July 2008.
Also Monday, Eastar Jet Co., another South Korean budget carrier, said it has
received approval from the government to fly overseas routes.
Eastar Jet plans to offer irregular flights between Incheon and Kuching,
Malaysia, from Dec. 24-Jan. 1, before providing regular overseas flight services.

Eastar Jet began providing domestic routes in January.
