One of a senior police officer stated that once the
NIA takes over the documents, SIT which was formed with a
specific purpose would be dissolved and officers will have to
report back to their parent units.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Omprakash Kurtakar is
heading the SIT, which comprises of officers picked up from
various units.
The blast probe was handed over to SIT from Margao
police on October 18, just two days after the blast.
Two people were killed on the spot when explosives
went off prematurely in the city of Margao. Another Improvised
Explosive Device (IED) was diffused at Sancoale, a village
next to Vasco town few minutes after Margao blast.
Police have arrested four persons, all related to
Sanatan Sanstha, who will be handed over to the NIA for
