STX Europe wins deal to build two vessels

SEOUL, Dec. 23 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's STX Group said Wednesday its European
unit has won a 160 billion won (US$135 million) deal to build two vessels.
Under the deal with Island Offshore XI KS of Norway, STX Europe AS will build the
platform supply vessels by 2012.

A platform supply vessel is a specially designed ship to transport goods and
personnel to and from offshore oil platforms.
STX Europe has won a series of vessel deals recently, including a polar supply
and research vessel, ice-breaker tugs and a military transport ship.
