YEMENI OFFICIAL AFFIRMS YEMEN'S CAPACITY TO HOST 20TH GULF CUP

SANA'A, Dec.23 (Saba) - Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports for
Financial and Administrative Affairs, Head of Yemen Football
Federation Hussein al-Shareef affirmed Wednesday Yemen's capacity to
host the 20th Gulf Cup.

This came during the meetings of the extraordinary conference of
heads of the football federations participating in the Arabian Gulf
Cup, which started with meeting of these federations' secretaries.

In the meeting, Al-Shareef noted the ongoing preparations in Yemen
for hosting this impotence Gulf event for the first time, demanding
the Gulf federations to support Yemen in this respect.

For his part, Secretary of Yemen Football Federation Hameed Shibani
considered that the real of development of Yemeni football would
begin with hosting the 20th Gulf Cup.

The three-day meeting discusses the arrangements for hosting the
20th Gulf Cup scheduled to be held in Aden and Abyan provinces by
end of 2010.

According to the conference agenda, the meeting of secretaries
discusses during Wednesday and Thursday the Yemeni federation's
report on the progress in the preparation for hosting the 20th Gulf
Cup at the level of the sport infrastructure projects in order to
submit a final report to the meeting of heads of the Gulf, Yemen and
Iraq federations to be held on Friday.
