Police find cannon at plumber shop in central Yemen
DHAMAR, Dec. 22 (Saba) - Police have seized a cannon from a plumber shop in Yemen's central province of Dhamar, the Interior ministry reported on Tuesday.
It posted on its website the strange seizure took
place while the owner of the workshop, 40, was repairing some of its parts. The
plumber and
the man who brought the cannon to the workshop, in his 70s, were arrested and turned
over to interrogators. In Hajjah in north, police seized 40 cannon missiles buried
underground
near a house in Alshahil district. The missiles were found during restoring the
house, according the website. They seemed dating back to the immediate years after
the revolution
in 1962. Policemen were dispatched to the site to deal with the missiles. Yemen has
recently ordered police to be vigilant amid crackdown on arms trade. FR
