SK Engineering wins $724 million deal in Kuwait
SEOUL, Dec. 23 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's SK Engineering & Construction Co. said
Wednesday it has won a US$724 million order from Kuwait Oil Co. to build a
boosting station and related infrastructure in the Middle Eastern country.
The project involves building a boosting station 95 kilometers north of Kuwait
City and laying pipelines to link it with another station and three crude oil
gathering centers nearby. Construction of the facilities is scheduled to start in
January next year for completion in mid-2013.
SK Engineering has previously built a crude oil gathering center and
reconstructed a boosting station in the oil-rich nation.
The South Korean builder has received a total of 10 overseas orders worth $4.8
billion from eight countries this year.
