FM TO BRIEF US OFFICIALS ON DEVELOPMENTS IN YEMEN



SANA'A, Dec. 24 (Saba) - Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi is to
pay a visit to Washington next January to brief the US officials on
the developments in Yemen concerning fight on terrorism and
rebellion, the weekly 26 September reported on Thursday.

During the visit that would be in 20 Jaunty, al-Qirbi is expected to
hold talks with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and a number
of officials in the US administration over the regional issues
particularly issues of piracy in the Gulf of Aden in addition to
Middle East peace process, according to well-informed sources.

Al-Qirbi will also review with the US officials means to boost
cooperation relations between the two countries in various fields,
especially in areas of economy, security and fighting against
terrorism.

The sources asserted that Yemen and the US seek to hold a strategic
dialogue in the future, dealing with Yemeni-US relations and means
of enhancing coordination in various fields.

Worth to mention is that the US administration has decided recently
to raise its support to Yemen to about $ 121 million.
