INQUIRY COMMITTEE TO RESUME QUESTIONING CENTURY WITNESSES ON JAN 5
Jakarta, Dec 24 (ANTARA) - The House Inquiry Committee on Bank Century will resume questioning witnesses in the scandal around the bank`s bailout on January 5, its chairman said.
"The inquiry committee still has to profoundly study the unsolved FPJP (short-term funding facilities)," Idrus Marham said here on Thursday.
Idrus said among the witnesses were Bank Indonesia (BI) Deputy Governors Hartadi A Sarwono, Muliaman D Hadad and Budi Mulia and former supervision director Sabar Anton Tarihoran.
They had all been put in the list of witnesses but the committee had no chance to question them in the previous hearing, he said.
"We will try to resolve the FPJP case on Tuesday (January 5)," he said.
After the FPJP issue had been resolved, the committee would study the decision to bail out Bank Century, he said.
At its next meetings, the committee would summon other witnesses including Finance Minister Sri Mulyani and former vice president Jusuf Kalla, he said.
"Because the inquiry committee is profoundly studying the Bank Century case from one theme to another, we are likely to summon witnesses who have already given their testimonies," he said.
The themes were based on the results of an investigative audit conducted by the State Audit Board (BPK) which found nine irregularies in the decision to bail out Bank Century, he said.
The committee summoned former Bank Indonesia governor Burhanuddin Abdullah and former deputy governors Anwar Nasution and Miranda S Goeltom to give their testimonies at a hearing on Monday.
On Tuesday, the committee also summoned former Bank Indonesia governor Boediono who is currently the vice president.
