Hatoyama to visit India from Sunday to discuss partnership with Singh+

TOKYO, Dec. 25 Kyodo -
Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama will visit India from Sunday for talks with his
Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh in New Delhi, the government said Friday.
In the summit, to be held Tuesday, the two are expected to discuss ways to
strengthen a strategic partnership between the two countries as well as
counterterrorism measures, a free trade agreement and climate issues.
Prior to the summit, Hatoyama will also visit Mumbai, the country's largest
city by population, before returning to Japan on Wednesday.
Finalizing the arrangement of his trip took time due to extended consultations
on Japan's fiscal 2010 budget, which was compiled Friday.
