SAUDI FIRM WINS CONTRACT TO TREAT WATER IN YEMENI OIL FILED

RIYADH, Dec.27 (Saba) - AES Arabia Ltd. (Riyadh-based
Company) announced Sunday winning a contract to implement water
treatment facilities for industrial wastewater used in pumping
operations in favor of an oil project in Yemen.

AES's Chairman Fawaz al-Maliki said in a press release: "This
contract is the second contract awarded by the company in Yemen,
after winning a contract last year for designing and manufacturing
equipments in the project site".

Al-Maliki pointed out that the new contract regards to oil projects
in Wadi Kharir in Shabwa province, 600 km northeast of the capital
Sana'a, with a total capacity of over 26,000 cubic meters of treated
water per day.

He considered the Yemeni market one of the most attractive markets
during the coming phase, expecting to award more contacts in the
Yemeni petroleum sector with stability achievement, while the Saudi
companies would be more fortunate to get these contracts due to
their experiences and high potentials.

The support services projects in the petroleum sector have begun
operating recently with signs of improvement in oil prices, both in
the Saudi market and the foreign market, al-Maliki indicated.
