MAKASSAR CITY WILL OPEN MUSEUM IN MALAYSIA

Makassar, S Sulawesi, Dec 27 (ANTARA) - The Makassar city administration, South Sulawesi province, will open a museum in Malaysia in 2010, cultural office spokesman said.

"In view of the Malaysian government's plan to open a museum through the Malacca museum agency in Makassar, we will also do the same thing in Malaysia," head of the Makassar cultural and tourism office, Rusmayana Madjid said here on Sunday.

Madjid disclosed that his office will soon carry out the plan, especially that discussions had already been held between the Makassar cultural and tourism office and the Malacca museum agency.

Rusmayana Madjid believed that the Malaysian plan to open a gallery or museum in Makassar will help the Makassar city administrtation promote this city to other countries.

"We will soon go to Malaysia, but we haven't yet set the time, but it would be next year," he said, adding that his office has selected the objects which will be brought to Malaysia.
