Volvo recalls 435 vehicles on defective parts

SEOUL, Dec. 28 (Yonhap) -- Global automaker Volvo has decided to recall a total
of 435 vehicles sold in South Korea due to multiple manufacturing defects, the
government said Monday.

Subject to the recall are 300 passenger vehicles of the XC60 D5 model produced
between May and October this year and 135 cars of the XC90 D5 model manufactured
between January 2007 and August 2008, respectively, according to the Ministry of
Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs.
They had defective seat belts, faulty fuel pipes and steering wheel parts, the
ministry said. The vehicles can get free repairs from Volvo-affiliated service
centers starting on Tuesday, it added.
