TDP apprehends President's rule in Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad, Dec 29 (PTI) The Telugu Desam Party has
sought a clarification from state Chief Minister K Rosaiah on
whether or not his government existed as the pro-active role
being taken by new Governor E S L Narasimhan was raising
doubts over imposition of President's rule in the southern
state of Andhra Pradesh.

"We are given to suspect whether President's rule has
come into force in Andhra Pradesh what with the new governor
trying to assume a serious role in administrative affairs in
the wake of the ongoing political crisis," senior TDP leader
Nagam Janardhana Reddy said.
That the governor reviewed the law and order situation
in the state immediately after assuming charge here Monday has
caused the suspicion, Nagam Reddy along with T Devender Goud,
M Narasimhulu and others pointed out.
Addressing a press conference in the Telugu Desam
Legislature Party office after a meeting of the party leaders
from Telangana region Tuesday, they wondered how Home Minister
P Sabita Reddy took part in the review meeting with the
governor when she claimed to have resigned from her post on
the Telangana issue.
The TDP leaders cautioned the Rosaiah government
against trying to suppress the ongoing agitation for a
separate Telangana state.
If the agitation is suppressed, it will grow three
times larger and continue till the ultimate goal of a separate
state is realised, the TDP leaders warned. (MORE) PTI DBV
