Parliament ratifies International Convention for Suppression Terrorism

financing SANA'A, Dec.29 (Saba) - The parliament ratified on Tuesday the =
International Convention for
the Suppression of Financing of Terrorism.
Concluding its second session for the second term of the seventh annual =
round, the parliament also approved a law draft against money laundering =
and terrorism financing
as well as a law draft of amending some articles of the civil procedures =
law.
Ratifying the International Convention for the Suppression of Financing =
of Terrorism by the parliament comes within the state efforts to combat =
terrorism in all its forms.
At the ends of the past two weeks, counterterrorism forces carried out =
successful operations against al-Qaeda hideouts and training sites in =
the provinces of Sana'a, Abyan,
Shabwa killing and arresting scores of terrorists.
There were 64 killed suspects and other 29 suspects were arrested.
In the first operations in Abyan and Sana'a, the number of the dead was =
34 and the arrested were 29.
In the second operation in Shabwa, about 30 terrorist suspects were =
killed. The dead in all operations included leaders.
Few days ago, two suspects were identified among the dead in the Shabwa =
operation.
The recent operations were followed by intensive hunts for al-Qaeda =
suspects across the republic.
A security source pledged on Monday further military operations against =
terrorists of al-Qaeda group in Arabia Peninsula.
