GUSNAR ISMAIL INSTALLED AS GORONTALO GOVERNOR

Gorontalo, Dec 30 (ANTARA) - Gusnar Ismail was installed as Gorontalo governor replacing Fadel Muhammad at a ceremony also attended by four cabinet ministers here Tuesday.

The four ministers who attended the installation function were Home Affairs Minister Gamawan Fauzi, Maritime and Fisheries Minister Fadel Muhammad, State Enterprises Minister Mustafa Abubakar and State Minister for Public Housing Suharso Monoarfa.

Gusnar Ismail said the presence of the four ministers on the occasion was a form of support for him to lead the region.

"I need support and smooth communication with the central government to manage Gorontalo," Gusnar Ismail said.

Fadel Muhammad, former Gorontalo governor admitted he still missed Gorontalo which he had led for seven years.

In addition, the installation function was also attended by two members of the Regional Representatives Council or DPD, namely El Nino Husein Mohi and Hana Hasanah.

Gorontalo was previously part of North Sulawesi province.
