OVER 100 THOUSAND OFFICIALS REPORT WEALTH TO KPK

Jakarta, Dec 30 (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission KPK) during 2009 received reports on personal wealth from 104,002 sate officials, KPK Deputy Chairman M Jasin said.

Jasin said here on Tuesday that KPK had made persuasive approaches and cooperated with a number of ministries and state institutions in its attempt to increase state officials' compliance in reporting their personal wealth.

He said KPK cooperated with six ministries/state institutions and provided technical guidance for 7,914 participants from various government officials.

Besides, he said, KPK also held a technical guidance and clarifications for presidential and vice presidential candidates as well as for legislators and members of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) by organizing consultation clinics on the reporting of state officials' wealth.

The anti-graft body also received 297 reports on gratification cases, which consisted of 134 reports on funds worth Rp1.26 billion and on goods worth Rp997.28 million belonging to the state and of 70 reports of funds amounting to Rp11.7 billion plus an amount in foreign currency and goods worth Rp536.9 million belonging to the recipients.
