MINISTER FADEL VISITS FISHERY PROJECTS IN BALI
Denpasar, Bali Province, Dec. 30 (ANTARA) - Marine and Fishery Minister Fadel Muhammad is on a working visit to Bali to inspect several fishery projects in the province.
"Minister Fadel Muhammad is visiting Bali from December 30 to 31, 2009, to see a number of fishery projects," Anak Agung Mahendra Putra, head of the catchment fishery and breeding section of the Bali provincial marine and fishery service, said here on Wednesday.
Upon his arrive in Bali, he proceeded to visit a shrimp nursery project at Bugbug village, Karangasem District, around 85 km east of Denpasar.
The shrimp nursery center having production capacity of 350,000 head per year, is the largest in Southeast Asia.
The minister is also scheduled to visit the South East Asia Center for Ocean Research and Monitoring (SEACORM) which is located at Perancak, Jembrana District, West Bali.
Established in March 2004, SEACORM is equipped with sophisticated technology which is able to detect the condition or change in ocean surface in several Southeast Asian countries.
Minister Fadel will also visit fishery research project at Gondol, Buleleng District, North Bali, according to Agung Mahendra.
