TWO KILLED IN PLANE CRASH

Pontianak, Dec 31 (ANTARA) - Two crew members of an airplane belonging to PT Sinar Mas which crashed on Thursday morning in Ketapang district, West Kalimantan, were killed, an eye witness said.

The crash of the turbo-prop plane killed its Pilot Sigit and and Co-pilot Titin Winarno.

"The Twin Otter only carried two crew members without cargo. It took off from the Rahadi Oesman airport of Ketapang for Pangkalan Bun, Central Kalimantan," Yudo Sudarto, chief of the Cultural, Tourism and Yough Affairs Service of Ketapang said.

The plane (not a chopper as earlier reported) went down, hitting the roof of Agoesdjam hospital in Ketapang, West Kalimantan at 8.30 a.m.

The ill-fated plane went down while flying over Ketapang city, landing on the roof of the hospital, hitting a doctor and a car.

Rescue and security personnel were still evacuating the passengers and patients from the hospital.
