Kia Motors 2009 sales rises more than 10 pct to 1.53 mln units

SEOUL, Dec. 31 (Yonhap) -- Kia Motors Corp., South Korea's No.2 automaker, sold a
total of 1.53 million units at home and abroad this year, up 130,000 from last
year's figure, a company official said Thursday.

Chung Sung-eun, the automaker's vice chairman, told employees that sales
increased this year on the back of robust demand at home and overseas markets
such as China
The automaker set next year's sales target at 1.93 million units, he said.
