Hyundai Motor 2009 sales rise 10 pct to 3.1 mln units

SEOUL, Dec. 31 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's leading automaker,
sold a total of 3.1 million vehicles at home and abroad this year, a company
official said Thursday.

Youn Yeo-chul, the automaker's vice chairman, told employees that this year's
sales increased 10 percent despite the global economic slump.
The official said next year's business environment will not be favorable due to a
stronger won and increased competition with foreign rivals.
