117 FISHING PROJECTS CARRIED IN 2009, SAYS MINISTER

SANA'A, Dec. 31 (Saba)- Some 117 fishing projects were carried and under implementation at sum of YR 17.5 billion in 2009, minister of fisheries wealth Mohammed Shamlan said Thursday.

The minister told Saba that 23 projects were in Hodeidah province at amount of $ 4.4 billion and then Hadramout with 23 projects at sum of $ 4.1 billion.

He made it clear that these projects aim at developing seaports in the country and improving the fishing sector

Moreover, the minister said that the ministry announced a tender of project of setting up information center for the fishing sector in the country at YR 400 million.
