Yemen, WTO to start 7th round talks in January
SANA'A, Jan. 01 (Saba)- Preparations
for the 7th round talks for Yemen's accession into the World Trade Organization
(WTO) are
expected to be kicked off in January 2010, 26sep.net has reported.
Minister of Industry and Trade, head of the National Committee for Preparation and
Negotiation with WTO Yahya al-Mutawakil has said that the meeting will be held in
January
in Geneva, noting that the two sides prepared in November 2009 for holding this
meeting and to hand over all required documents to the Organization's secretariat.
He clarified that the documents will include answers to the WTO questions over
Yemen foreign trade system.
The minister said that Yemen tried, through the answers, to avoid commitment
language to comply with the WTO rules and requirements of the accession.
