130 MARINE TROOPERS OFF TO AMBALAT WATERS



Surabaya, Jan 3 (ANTARA) - A total of 130 marine troopers aboard the Indonesian warship KRI Teluk Lampung-540 left for Ambalat waters off East Kalimantan coast on Saturday.

"The marine task force personnel led by 1st Lt Imam Syafi'i left the Indonesian eastern fleet command's pier D in Surabaya on Saturday," spokesman for the Marine Corps 2nd Sgt Kuwadi said on Sunday.

The personnel grouped in the Ambalat task force X would replace their colleagues who had been assigned there for nine months, he said.

"The Ambalat task force X personnel will be stationed at five posts, namely Sei Bajau, Sei Taiwan, Balansiku, Sembaring, and Bambangan," he said.

The five posts are located in Sebatik Island, Nunukan district, East Kalimantan bordering Malaysia, he said.
