S. Korea to sell 6.4 tln won in state debts in Jan.


SEOUL, Jan. 4 (Yonhap) -- The government said Monday that it plans to sell state
bonds worth around 6.4 trillion won (US$5.5 billion) in January.

The finance ministry said in a statement that it will sell 1.6 trillion won in
three-year Treasuries, 2.5 trillion won in five-year debt and 1.5 trillion won
worth of 10-year government bonds this month. It also plans to issue 800 billion
won worth of 20-year state debt.
South Korea sold a total of 85 trillion won worth of state debt last year, of
which 5.5 trillion won was used for converting outstanding government bonds with
new ones aimed at stimulating transactions, according to the ministry.
