Hyundai Engineering aims for 23 tln won in sales in 2015

SEOUL, Jan. 4 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's top builder Hyundai Engineering &
Construction Co. said Monday that it is targeting 23 trillion won (US$2 billion)
in sales and 54 trillion won in orders in 2015, as part of its medium and
long-term growth plan.

Hyundai Engineering also plans to increase its operating profit-to-sales ratio to
9.5 percent and join the 20th ranking among the global builders, the builder
said.
In a bid to achieve its goal, the builder will promote businesses like overseas
nuclear-power plants, offshore oil and gas filed development and renewable
energies as its new growth engine.
Hyundai Engineering is considering establishing a business unit to tap the global
nuclear-power plant market, the company said.
Hyundai Engineering has participated in a project to build four nuclear power
plants in the United Arab Emirates by 2020, as a member of a South Korean
consortium.
The consortium signed the $20 billion deal to build the nuclear power plants on
Dec. 27.
