PRESIDENT OPENS 2010 IDX PRIME TRADE

Jakarta, Jan 4 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono officially started the stock trading activities of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) at 9:30 a.m JAT (Jakarta Automated Trading) time on Monday, by pressing the inaugural button.

During the visit at the Stock Exchange, President Yudhoyono accompanied by Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, State Minister for State-owned Enterprises Mustafa Abubakar, Economic Coordinating Minister Hatta Rajasa and Minister of Trade Mari Elka Pangestu, Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo and IDX Director Ito Warsito.

Today's IDX index stock trading is optimistic with a 14 points index rise from the 2009 closing index of 2534 points.

Last year's IDX index was one of the best in the world with a 87 percent growth compared to 2008, which indicated that investors gained a profit of 87 percent throughout 2009.
