SK-led consortium wins US$77.8 mln order from India
SEOUL, Jan. 4 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's SK Engineering & Construction Co. said
Monday that a consortium it leads has clinched a US$77.8 million order from an
Indian state-run oil company to build an underground oil storage facility.
The order, awarded by India Strategic Petroleum Reserve Ltd., calls for the
consortium to build the facility that can store 1.25 million tons of crude in
Padur, 45 kilometers north of Mangalore, a southwestern port city of India, SK
Engineering said.
It will take three years to complete the facility, the South Korean builder said.
SK Engineering has formed the consortium with Karam Chand Thapar & Bros. Ltd., an
Indian coal company, and owns a 60 percent stake in the project, the builder
said.
