N. Koreans rescued in East Sea to return home: official

SEOUL, Jan. 5 (Yonhap) -- South Korea plans to return two North Koreans whose
barge drifted earlier this week into the South's easternmost islets in the East
Sea, an official said Tuesday.

The North Koreans were rescued northeast of the Dokdo islets on Sunday and have
expressed a hope to return home during questioning by South Korean authorities.
Seoul plans to notify Pyongyang of their wish later Tuesday, Chun Hae-sung,
spokesman for the Unification Ministry said.
