Korean translation of Korean War book by British author published

SEOUL, Jan. 5 (Yonhap) -- The Korean edition of "To the Last Round," a book by a
British journalist that recounts a desperate Korean War battle, has recently hit
shelves in South Korea, its local publisher said Tuesday.

The book published in Britain last year and now translated into Korean was
written by Andrew Salmon, journalist who covers the Korean Peninsula for the
Washington Times, the Times and South China Morning Post.
Salmon weaves compelling accounts of the deadly battle of the Imjin River in
1951, which runs across the current inter-Korean border, where 750 soldiers of
the British Gloucestershire Battalion fought against mass assaults by about
40,000 Chinese troops and mostly died.
The author interviewed 50 of the survivors, recounting their story of the battle
and their detention in a prisoner of war camp besides the Amnok (Yalu) River,
which borders China, said the Korean publisher, Zeitgeist.
