OMAN`S FOOTBALL TEAM DEFEATS RI`S
Jakarta, Jan 6 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian national team failed to perform at the Asian Cup finals in 2011 losing 1-2 (1-1) against Oman in the Group B's qualifying match at the Bung Karno main stadium here on Wednesday night.
With the result, Indonesia remains at the lowest standing with three points, while Oman with seven points has an opportunity to advance to the next round. In the meantime Kuwait and Australia have also collected seven points.
In the first round, Indonesian team coach Benny Dolo put Markus as goalkeeper and three strikers, namely Boas Sallosa, Bambang Pamungkas and Budi Sudarsono and the defense led by Charis Yulianto.
Meanwhile, Oman's team which had trained under coach Claude le Roy put Ali Al Habsi as goalkeeper and Hosni and Ismail on the front lines.
At the beginning of the first round, the Indonesian team was under pressure from Omani team foot-to-foot ball passing.
Omani Bait Doorbeen Fawzi scored the first goal at minute 31.
After that Indonesia equalized the score 1-1, and this position remained until the end of the first half.
In the second half of the game, Omani Ismail Sulaiman broke Indonesia's goalpost, making the score 2-1.
