TWO NEW CONSTITUTIONAL COURT JUDGES TAKE OATH
Jakarta, Jan 7 (ANTARA) - Two Constitutional Court judges took their oath before President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the State Palace here on Thursday morning.
At the State Palace ceremony at 11 a.m., the head of state witnessed the oath-taking of Hamdan Zoelva and Fadlil Sumadi who would replace Mukti Fadjar and Maruarar Siahaan as Constitutional Court judges.
The appointment of Hamdan Zoelva and Fadlil Sumadi as new Constitutional Court judges was formalized by Presidential Decree No.1/P/2010 dated January 5, 2010.
At present there are nine judges at the Constitutional Court chaired by Mahfud MD.
President Yudhoyono at the oath-taking ceremony was accompanied by First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, Vice President Boediono and his wife Herawati Boediono.
Also present were Regional Representatives Council (DPD) Chairman Irman Gusman, Constitutional Court Chairman Mahfud MD, Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Chairman Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean, National Defense Forces (TNI) Chief Gen Djoko Santoso, and a few cabinet ministers.
