RI, S'PORE AIR FORCES TO INCREASE COOPERATION

Jakarta, Jan 7 (ANTARA) - The Singapore and Indonesian air forces have agreed to step up their relations and expand the fields of their cooperation, an Indonesian Air Force spokesman said.

Air Commodore Bambang Soelistyo said here on Thursday "We discussed bilateral cooperation that had been established and its expansion in the future," after accompanying Indonesian Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Imam Sufaat in receiving the commander of the Singapore Air Force's operations, Brig. Gen Kwek Kok Kwong.

He said the air forces of the two nations had established cooperation in many areas.

The cooperation was in the fields of education and joint exercises such as one codenamed "Elang Indopura", Soelistyo said.

The air forces of the two nations had also formed the Joint Air Force Training Working Group (JAFTWG) and cooperated in the promotion of flight safety.
