Tanjungpinang, Jan 7 (ANTARA) - A tugboat flying the Singaporean flag went down in Tanjung Berakit waters, Bintan regency, Riau Islands Province (Kepri), Tanjungpinang SAR chief Bambang Subagyo said.
"The tugboat sank in Tanjung Berakit waters on Wednesday (Jan 6)," Bambang Subagyo said Thursday.
Bambang said the SAR squad in Tanjungpinang received information on the sinking of the tugboat Oceanic Lark at 1 p.m local time on Wednesday (Jan 6).
"The 13 victims, including two killed, two survived but nine others were still missing," he said.
The survivors were rescued by another Singapore vessel, Oceanic Protector, he added.
Right now, he said, search for the missing were still underway involving Singaporean ships, the Tanjungpinang SAR, and two Indonesian warships.
"For the time being, the cause of the mishap was still being sought," he said.
The cargo and destination of the ill-fated vessel were still unclear, Bambang said.
