Seoul stocks down 0.19 pct late Friday morning
SEOUL, Jan. 8 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded 0.19 percent lower late
Friday morning, weighed down by hefty institutional selling, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) fell 3.23 points to trade
at 1,686.68 as of 11:20 a.m.
Institutional investors dumped a net 110 billion won (US$97 million) of local
shares as they scrambled to cement profits for the fourth consecutive session.
The local currency was trading at 1,134.70 won to the U.S. dollar as of 11:20
a.m., up 0.70 won from Thursday's close, as offshore investors sold the
greenback.
