KPK QUESTIONS ANGGODO WIDJOJO

Jakarta, Jan 8 (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Friday finally questioned businessman Amggodo Widjojo after postponing a questioning session scheduled for Thursday.

Anggodo arrived at KPK building at 9 on Friday morning in the company of his lawyers Bonaran Situmeang and Thomson Situmeang.

On arrival in the KPK office compound, the businessman refused to made a statement to waiting reporters but directly made his way into the KPK office.

"I am here just to meet the KPK summons," Anggodo said briefly.

Anggodo was initially to be questioned on Thursday but the questioning session was postponed because the KPK investigators wanted to obtain a deeper understanding of certain pertinent matters.

"The questioning of Anggodo has been postponed because KPK investigators want to obtain a deeper understanding of related matters," KPK spokesman Johan Budi told newsmen here on Thursday.

Johan Budi did not elaborate on the reason for the postponement and only said the businessman would be questioned on Friday.

Anggodo was questioned on Friday for a bribery attempt and for efforts to hamper an investigation being carried out by KPK.

But as of 11 a.m. on Friday Anggodo was still questioned and there was no official information about the substance of the questioning.

Anggodo Widjojo is the younger brother of Anggoro Widjojo who has been named by the KPK as a suspect for bribery in the supply of an Integrated Radio Communication System to the Forestry Ministry.
