POLICE CHIEF ORDERS INVESTIGATION OF SUSNO COMPLETED NEXT WEEK
Jakarta, Jan 8 (ANTARA) - National Police Chief General Bambang Hendarso Danuri has asked the examination reports of the former head of Criminal Investigation Body, Commissioner General Susno Duadji can be completed next week.
"Next week (the examination) should have been decided," General Bambang Hendarso Danuri said at Police Headquarters in South Jakarta on Friday.
Danuri said he had ordered the Deputy Chief of the National Police, Commissioner General Yusuf Manggabarani to follow up and supervise the inspection team performance related to Susno's alleged violations of discipline and code of ethics.
The National Police formed inspection team on Susno consisting of General Supervision Inspectorate (Itwasum), Profession and Security Division (Divpropam) and the Legal Development Division (Divbinkum).
"Take appropriate and quick action soon according to existing regulation," the four-star police general said.
The police chief said his side handed over all the handling of the matter to the police because this is the internal problem and expressed hope the problem will be uncovered after the inspection completed.
Danuri said that Susno, an active police senior officer,
should be subject and obedient to the Law (UU) No. 2 of 2002 concerning Discipline Rules and Ethics and police profession.
The police chief said further that the actions of all police members from high to low rank must be in accordance with the rules, if there is dissatisfaction it can be conveyed in line with the procedure.
"Unlike this matter, this should not happen again in the future," Danuri warned.
On Thursday (Jan 7), the National Police spokesman Insp Gen Edward Aritonang said Susno Duadji may be disciplined by the force for having given alleviating testimony in a court session trying former anti-graft body chief Antasari Azhar.
Aritonang said by taking the witness stand in the Antasri trial without the knowledge or permission from his superior, Susno had breached the police's code of ethics and professionalism.***
