Iran's largest domestic aluminum plant to be inaugurated
TEHRAN, Jan. 8 (MNA) – The largest and the most advanced aluminum plant of Iran, Hormozal, will be officially inaugurated tomorrow in the southern city of Bandar Abbas.
Once the plant comes on stream some 47 percents would be added to the country’s annual production capacity, boosting it from the previous figure of 310,000 tons to 457,000 tons.
According to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), the most advanced technology in the aluminum industry, namely the 230 KA, has been applied in the project.
Some 7700 jobs will be created directly and indirectly by the plant coming on stream.
Hormozal plant has been built adjacent to Almahdi aluminum plant, making Hormozgan Province an aluminum producing hub.
