Pohang Steelers` new coach vows success with his new team

SEOUL, Jan. 8 (Yonhap) -- The new coach of the Pohang Steelers said Friday he
will do his best to help the champion team stay at their peak and improve further
with "beautiful" football.
Brazilian Waldemar Lemos de Oliveira vowed to satisfy fans "with a beautiful
football," adding that the sport is not a battle, but an art, while speaking at a
press conference upon his arrival at Gimpo International Airport in Seoul.
"I'm glad to come to South Korea and happy to work with the great team," he said.
"Pohang has done well so far. It's an honor that Pohang chose me."
The 55-year-old, who led the Brazilian Olympic squad and other clubs before
signing a one-year deal with Pohang, succeeds Serjio Farias, who suddenly left
the South Korean team and joined the Saudi Arabian Al Ahly last month.
"I know the former leader has achieved a lot. I also want to form a good team and
show my own football," said Oliveira. "My football will be clean, well-mannered,
competitive and winning. I'll do my best to help Pohang remain at the top and
become a better team."
The Steelers won the title of the 2009 Asian Football Confederation (AFC)
Champions League and finished third at the FIFA Club World Cup last month.
He will meet with Pohang's assistant coaches on Saturday and with players on Monday.
