Genesis sedan, coupe labeled as CarsDirect`s top 10 of Decade

WASHINGTON, Jan. 8 (Yonhap) -- The South Korean automaker Hyundai's luxury sedan
Genesis and its sportier sibling coupe were listed as No. 5 on CarsDirect's Top
Ten Cars of the Decade Countdown.
Other cars that made the Top Ten by CarsDirect (www.carsdirect.com), a leading
online automotive shopping service and research portal, include the Honda S2000,
Nissan Altima, Chevrolet Corvette, Nissan 350Z, Ford Fusion, Mitsubishi Lancer
Evolution, MINI Cooper, BMW 3 Series and Toyota Prius.
"Even though the Hyundai Genesis didn't enter the market until late in the
decade, it was a game-changer nonetheless," said Armaan Almeida, automotive
editor of CarsDirect. "When introduced in 2008, the Genesis marked a huge change
for Hyundai. While the Genesis sedan tackles the full-size luxury segment, its
sibling Genesis Coupe takes on sporty two-door cars like the G37 and 370Z. And
like its sedan counterpart, it has yet to fail."
The Genesis Coupe offers a 2.0-liter intercooled four-cylinder turbocharged
engine producing 210 horsepower, and a 3.8-liter V6 with 306 horsepower.
"2009 has been a remarkable year for Hyundai and having the Genesis and Genesis
Coupe recognized by CarsDirect on its Top Ten Cars of the Decade helps us carry

Genesis Coupe was also named a Best New Car in About.com Cars' annual Best New
Cars List for 2010, marking the second year in a row that Hyundai has earned a
place on the list as the Genesis sedan was recognized in 2009.
