Man believed to S. Korean enters N. Korea via Chinese border: sources

BEIJING, Jan. 9 (Yonhap) -- A man, belived to be South Korean, in his 30s or 40s
has crossed a river into North Korea from China, sources here said Saturday.

The man crossed the frozen Tumen River on Friday after alighting from a taxi at a
point about 2 kilometers away from Tumen city in the Korean autonomous prefecture
of Yanbian, northeast China, the sources well informed on North Korea said.
He got into the taxi at the Yanji International Airport, the sources said.
The man who was using a native South Korean accent walked into North Korea in
spite of the taxi driver's attempts to stop him, warning he may be shot, they
said.
After crossing the border, he was taken away by North Korean border guards, they
added.
