Hyundai beats Renault in 2009 auto sales in Turkey
SEOUL, Jan. 11 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's top carmaker, said Monday it has unseated Renault SA of France as the largest car seller in Turkey, thanks to rising demand for its small cars.
Hyundai sold a total of 60,645 cars in Turkey last year, accounting for 16.4
percent of the Turkish market, compared with a 16 percent market share held by
Renault for the same period, the Korean company said in a statement.
It is the first time that Hyundai has overtaken Renault as the biggest seller in
Turkey, according to the statement.
