EUROCOPTER BRAZIL SECURES LARGEST SERVICE CONTRACT IN 30 YEARS
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 11 (Bernama) -- Eurocopter's Brazilian subsidiary has
managed to secure the largest service contract in more than 30 years of
its presence in that country.
Eurocopter in a statement Monday said, the contract signed last
month, is to upgrade 34 AS365K Panther helicopters, of the Brazilian Army's
aviation unit.
The objective of the contract is to extend the life of the current fleet by
at least 25 years, thank to modernisation and reconstruction.
Four aircraft will be upgraded annually and deliveries are expected to take
place between 2011 and 2021.
The Panther fleet was purchased in 1988 by the Brazilian government.
