Riyadh, January 11, 2010, SPA -- The Undersecretary of Ministry of Higher
Education for Scholarship Affairs Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Moussa said
today that 62,000 students have been sent on foreign scholarships during the
last four years as part of the Program of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for
Foreign Scholarships.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on the occasion of the launch of
the 5th phase of the program here on Sunday, he pointed out that the ministry
has not cancelled scholarships to Britain and Australia altogether, but it has
imposed the current 5th phase of the scholarship program aiming to balance
scholarships among countries, noting that in the previous phase the ministry
stopped scholarships to a number of countries including Canada, but
scholarships have been resumed for these countries in this phase.

Dr. Al-Moussa indicated that there are 19 specializations in 24 countries
