Samsung hospital launches luxury checkup program

SEOUL, Jan. 11 (Yonhap) -- Samsung Medical Center in Seoul has launched a luxury
heath care program to meet the increasing demand of high-class foreign patients,
the hospital said Monday.
Among the International CEO Health Program, which targets royal families and
upper class foreign nationals, a three-days-and-two-nights comprehensive medical
checkup service costs 10 million won (US$8,928).
The South Korean hospital had received 286 foreign patients and 1,163 overseas
Korean patients by November from May last year, when the nation's hospitals were
allowed to directly attract foreign patients, it said.
The hospital sees high potential demand for luxury services as it had served a
millionaire couple from Central Asia who received medical checkup worth over 25
million won before the program launched.
Samsung Medical Center plans to build an international heath care center across
from its main building, expecting more foreign patients to come, it said.
