JUDICIAL MAFIA FIGHTERS TO MEET CONSTITUTIONAL COURT CHIEF

Jakarta, Jan 11 (ANTARA) - The Anti-judicial Mafia Task Force is to follow up Constitutional Court (MK) chairman Moh Mahfud MD's statement that he possessed data about case-brokering activity inside the MK and Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), a spokesman said.

The task force's secretary, Denny Indrayana, said on Monday task force representatives would meet with Mahfud next Wednesday (Jan 13) to discuss the latter's claim.

Apart from Mahfud's claim, the task force would also study various reports from the public about case brokering activities in several law enforcement agencies in Indonesia, he said.

"We will take action over Mahfud's statement soon," Denny said after a meeting with the National Judicial Commission.

Mahfud MD stated he had received many reports from citizens about blackmailing attempts by persons claiming to be employee of the KPK or MK.

"I have all the data with me. In fact, the people who reported the cases to me still have the evidence such as cheques, the dates and places where the blackmail happened," Mahfud said.

Mahfud said he was ready to hand over the data to members of the Anti-Judicial Mafia Task Force.***
