NO US TROOPS TO BE SENT TO YEMEN: OBAMA SAYS

WASHINGTON, Jan. 11 (Saba) - The US has no plans to send any
military troops to Yemen and Somalia to fight al-Qaeda, President
Barack Obama confirmed on Monday.

In an interview with "People" Magazine to be published next Friday,
President Obama said "I have no intention of sending U.S. boots on
the ground in these regions", meaning Yemen and Somalia.

"In countries like Yemen, in countries like Somalia, I think working
with international partners is most effective at this point", Obama
added.

President Obama said he believed that the canter of al-Qaeda
activity still in the border area between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
