PRESIDENT TO OPEN APKASI NATIONAL CONFERENCE IN MADIUN
Surabaya, Jan 12 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to open a national conference of the All-Indonesia Association of District Administrations (Apkasi) in Madiun, East Java, on January 18, 2010.
Apkasi's East Java regional secretary Rasiyo said here on Tuesday that besides opening the two-day conference to be held from Jan 18 to 19, 2010, President Yudhoyono would also lead a go green drive by planting trees at Caruban sub-district in Madiun.
He said that after opening the conference and the tree planting drive, the president would attend a function on the acceleration of the implementation of the United Indonesia Cabinet's first 100-day program in East Java at the hajj dormitory in Madiun.
"The East Java provincial administration has been implementing new programs and continued with the previous programs which are in line with the second phase of the United Indonesia Cabinet's first 100-day program," Rasiyo said at the sideline of preparatory meeting for President Yudhoyono's working visit to East Java.
During the visit, President Yudhoyono will visit an exhibition of export-import industrial products, small and medium scale industries, in addition to handing a assistance to support the free nine-year basic education program through Regional School Operational Assistance (Bosda), pioneering a 12-year compulsory education, improvement of Islamic-based madrasah school teachers' welfare.
