CABINET DISCUSSES ARRANGEMENTS FOR LONDON CONFERENCE ON YEMEN

SANA'A,Jan.12 (Saba)- The cabinet discussed on Tuesday the
arrangements and preparations relating to London conference
scheduled to be held on January 28 to support Yemen efforts in
development and counterterrorism field.

In this respect, the cabinet reviewed the report of Foreign Minster
on the preparatory aspects taken by Yemen to participate in the
conference.

The cabinet affirmed the importance of the good arrangement and
preparation for the topics to be put by Yemen on the conference
table whether in the developmental and economic aspects or in field
of anti-terrorism activities.

On the first of this January, the UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown
called for a meeting to address Yemen's economic, political and
security issues.

The UK's Premier office said that Britain would work along with
international partners to assist Yemen to face al-Qaeda.

The call for a meeting on January 28 has received applause from the
White House and the European Union.
