Microsoft to launch "Office 365", Thai version March 19

BANGKOK, March 8 (TNA) - Microsoft (Thailand) Limited (Microsoft) says that it will launch its new "Office 365" software, Thai version, on March 19, 2013. Alvaro Celis, a vice president for sale, marketing, service, information and operations in Asia-Pacific of the US-based multinational software giant, announced the update in Bangkok on Thursday, acknowledging that the latest "Office 365" software can be operated on personal computers (PCs), smart phones and tablet computers, as well as on the online Cloud Computing system. Celis noted that the latest "Office 365" software, which has already introduced in several economies worldwide, is designed to meet demand of the modern society, which is always on the move, with rising younger generations working through tablets and smart phones, while the Cloud Computing system is becoming more and more popular among the general public. Meanwhile, Panjaporn Vittayalerdpun, a senior product manager-server and application platform at Microsoft (Thailand) Limited, told reporters that Microsoft "Office 97", used by most people in the Kingdom, and "Office XP" used by most firms, have been marketed since 2003, but the Thai version of the new software, Office 365, set to be launched on March 19, has functions to translate commands into Thai. Panjaporn pointed out, however, that the Internet infrastructure has not fully developed in all regions across Thailand, causing an inaccessibility on the Cloud Computing system in certain areas.
